Email notification of topic replies. - Conspiracy-Forums

Hey James,
I noticed today that the Thread Subscription is set to "none" (or something like that). You might get more return traffic if you change this to "instant". I didn't even know I had replies to my posts until decided to stop by. If the user doesn't like it they can always change it back in their usercp. Just a suggestion.

I know mine is set like that (as I read every thread in the forums at this point in time), but I originally thought what you stated was the default. Let me go check it out....

OK, I just looked in the AdminCP and the default setting I do have is "Subscribe with No Notification".

Do you think it would be better if I set it to something like "Instant Email Notification" or "Daily Email Notification"?

The one I had set already was the one I had at WT and a few other forums, so I had assumed that was the favorite. What do you think?

I think the default should be instant. I'm sure a majority of forums on the net are set this way. IMO, anybody that's been around the web (except for noobs) assume they are going to get a reply notification to their posts, so they shouldn't complain. As I said, if the user doesn't like it they can always change it.

Alright, I took your advice and changed it to "instant" for now. I'll keep it this way if there aren't many complaints about it

If I'm not mistaken, the change shouldn't affect existing member's settings, only new members, so it shouldn't be a problem. I could be wrong, though. I'm not fully versed in the workings of Vbulletin.

I'd like to see your site grow. I sure as Hell can't get any traffic, not that I'm looking for any. My sites are just hobbies.
