Hmm perhaps they are tracking WHAT we're viewing with the whole digital thing? That's a far more plausible conspiracy than having cameras in our TVs. They simply need to know who's tuning into what, and they've got a massive insight into your personality. Perhaps people's TV watching habits are being sold to big businesses for commercial applications. Knowing precise figures about who is watching what would be a massive commercial gain and it's plausible too.
